Cardiologist in La Marque, TX
We see La Marque patients at our Texas City office in Mainland Medical Plaza, on Emmett F. Lowry Expressway. It’s the closer of our 2 offices for anyone in La Marque. Dr. Patel trained in interventional cardiology at Texas Heart Institute, so he can both find a narrowed artery and open it.
Your Nearest Office
From central La Marque, take Highway 3 north to Emmett F. Lowry Expressway. The medical campus sits just off that intersection, and the drive is about 5 minutes without traffic. From the south end of town, take Texas Avenue to Highway 3. West of I-45, take FM 2004 north to Emmett F. Lowry Expressway and head east. Stay on the frontage road through the I-45 interchange. Figure 10 to 15 minutes from either edge of town.
The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 to 5, and most heart testing happens there. Cardiac catheterization (threading a thin tube through a blood vessel to the heart) and stenting (placing a small mesh tube to prop a narrowed artery open) aren’t done in the Texas City office. If you need one, we’ll tell you where it’s scheduled. Our homepage lists the conditions we treat and the tests and procedures we offer .
If you’d rather be seen in Clear Lake City, or it’s easier to reach from work, you can book at our Clear Lake City office instead.
Insurance
We accept most major plans, and the full list is in the insurance section of our homepage . Networks change, so call the office to confirm your specific plan before your visit.
Emergency Care in La Marque
When you’re not having symptoms, it helps to know that the nearest hospital emergency room to La Marque is HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland, at 6801 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway in Texas City. Its emergency department is open 24 hours a day.
If the Mainland ER sends you home after chest pain and tells you to see a cardiologist, call us as soon as you’re home and tell the front desk the follow-up window on your discharge papers. Our office is on the same campus. Bring those papers to the visit, and ask the ER for a copy of your ECG (a tracing of the heart’s electrical activity) and blood work if they aren’t in the packet.
Call the office instead of the ER for symptoms that are new but not sudden, such as breathlessness on stairs that wasn’t there last month, ankles that swell more each week, or a fluttering heartbeat that keeps coming back. This applies only when there is no chest pain, no fainting or near-fainting, and no severe shortness of breath.
